It has been a long time since I posted, as things have been a bit hectic around here. We did some workings and ebbos, but for some reason it seemed the Orishas wanted some privacy. As much as we in Ile Baalat Teva prefer transparency in our work because we like people to know what they’re getting into when they ask us for help, sometimes the spirits simply don’t allow us to photograph.
In this case though, they were generous, and I suppose it is because this is an issue that affects so many families. It should be clear that there is help available when someone is mistreating your loved ones and needs to be dealt with.
So, on March 12, 2019, we did a working centered around protection of a family and making sure a hostile intruder gets what they deserve. In addition, we did offerings for prosperity, but with the stress on protecting those who contributed from threats. This was aggressive Oshun work. As you can see, our ile’s senior child of Oshun and Queen Arden was in “blushing her cheeks with the blood of our enemies” mode.
People mistreating one’s family members, jealous and unscrupulous people in one’s workplace, and other nasty intruders will get what they have coming to them, but sometimes it helps to make it official with the Spirits and forces of Nature that we say no. Nature can be a cruel teacher, and will allow things to happen when nobody stands up against it. So this is what we do. Some people disapprove and call such works “dark”, but it is darker, in our opinion, to allow evil to prosper unanswered. At least on a spiritual level, one has to make it clear that we don’t enjoy being hurt and seeing our friends or family members hurt, cheated, or abused.
Though most of the time, our work is joyful and happy, there are times it is appropriate to get aggressive. Balance is key. So if you’re having an issue that needs some serious balance, feel free to write.
Blessings and Ashe!
