Ebbo for Shango Hosted by Ile Baalat Teva, October 11, 2018

On October 11, 2018 Ile Baalat Teva hosted the annual fall ebbo for Shango at the home of Zev. This year we were able to have the traditional wrestling match between the men.

It was a good ceremony. Zev ended up being the champion of the wrestling tournament. Eliad and Barak tended the grill. Arden was the Mistress of Ceremony. Everyone ate well and had a great time.

Today, I’m a bit tired and sore as if I had wrestled myself. I came home to a lesson in why to be careful with children of Shango, and spend the morning being reminded that even so, I am not helpless.  Life is weird sometimes. One thing that is very clear at the end of this day-after though, is that my warriors have my back.

Someone told me I’m a nice person. Well, I can be nice because my warriors are fierce.

The powerful don’t need to be cruel…and as Leo Tolstoy once said, the most powerful warriors are patience and time.

Kabiyosile Shango!
