Agate Thistle Torcs 2016-02-17
For a working, I had to braid a silver torc to appease a Witch-Ancestor, so before I did that, I figured I had better do a few practice runs. This is one of them.
Africans, Celts, Romans, Greeks…just about every nation wore twisted or braided torcs as a sign of wealth and status. What few people still remember is that braided and twisted torcs are protection amulets. With each crossing of the wire, the artist makes a “knot” of protection intent around the person they are making it for.
Also, both solid and braided/twisted torcs have been used as currency. They gain protective power every time they are gifted or traded with a new person.
